Terrorism, Tragedies, and The Sleeping People: The Sheeple

I rarely ever get pulled into the drama of the news … but last night I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing.

God Bless the people on that plane — I can’t imagine the terror of realizing your plane has been hit and is falling rapidly from the sky 30,000 feet in the air … horror. God Bless their grieving families. God Bless this world.

I decided to view the reports through “google” from different countries “lenses”: Britain has its perspective, the United States and all its different government-driven News Stations all had different angles of the same story (which is so scary because its so obvious we probably will never know the truth), Australia, Europe, and of course, Canada, where I live.

This act of terrorism deeply affected not only the world, but one of my own students at The S.W.A.T. Institute, Karishma Gill, who is from Malaysia and who had acquaintances on that very plane. It opened up a powerful discussion this morning on our private siSTARhood Facebook group around fear, anger, sorrow, and the whole gamut of emotions that arrive at these terrible times.

The fact remains: There is so much oppression and violence happening all over this world and until the masses (the 97% of the population) decide to pull their heads out of their asses – and out of the ridiculous daily drama we’ve learned to become consumed and distracted with – the other 3% will forever decide our fates and run this world. It is time for a global change. Awareness, mindfulness, and action from even just those of us in industrialized nations—who can speak up and speak out—will tip the world from darkness into LIGHT.

Acts of terrorism such as this one simply magnify what is happening daily to millions of people in hidden ways all over the world. While we’re grieving this horrific tragedy, we should remind ourselves of the millions of starving babies in Africa right now too… being murdered because the masses do nothing or the families in war torn towns and cities all over the world, who are waiting for another bomb to drop or a machete to slice.

It’s all wrong … and it’s all happening because The Sheeple allow it. Most Sheeple don’t even know they have any power to evoke change. This is how “The Machine”—greed, gluttony, exploitation, oppression, etc., wins.

(Note: Passive people are what I half-jokingly refer to as The Sheeple—disconnected, distracted, out of the flow, unaware, and not overly concerned about the wellbeing of others, animals, and/or the planet. They may be the sweetest, kindest, smartest souls or the meanest, sons of bitches and yet, deep down, they feel powerless to be able to make any kind of significant change in the world. The Sheeple are disempowered but don’t know it: DENIAL – Didn’t Even Notice I Am Lost.)

The only way we can heal this world is by choosing to remain empowered emotionally, to be wise with our choices, and to use our assertiveness rather than our aggressiveness to evoke change. We must never allow fear to make us run away, bury our head in the sand, or stay silent. We must become Shepherds.

If enough empowered people would speak up and speak out we would shift the tipping point. Collectively, we have the power to dramatically, effectively, and efficiently change the world at large but you would have to wake up and see the bigger picture, not only for your life but also for the world’s empowerment.

Everyone deserves to have food in their belly,
a safe place to lay their head at night, and the choice to expand their lives—
it’s not just an American dream!
