by Tosca Reno
Ingredients
For Meltaways
- 1 1⁄2 cups Dark chocolate 70% or
darker (Green and Blacks is ethical) - 0.25-0.5 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp unrefined sea salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 0.5 cup extra virgin coconut oil
For Coating
- 0.5 cup Maldon sea salt flakes
- 0.5 cup raw, powdered cocoa powder
- Crystal’s twist: we added organic and
unsweetened coconut flakes
Directions
1. Line 8” x 8” baking pan with parchment paper.
2. Melt dark chocolate over a pan of simmering water.
3. Add salt and cayenne pepper and stir to combine.
4. Add coconut oil to melted chocolate and stir to combine.
5. Pour mixture into parchment lined pan.
6. Let mixture set up. (We sped up this process by putting the baking pan in the fridge)
7. Meanwhile, combine sea salt and cocoa powder and place on flat plate. 8. Dust over hardened chocolate/coconut oil mixture.
9. Flip pan onto cutting board and cut chocolate into bite-sized pieces.
10. Roll each piece in cocoa/salt mixture.
11. Enjoy!
