This week I have the pleasure of welcoming Charlene Byars as our featured Simply Woman Superstar!

Charlene is a fiery ball of energy and fun who is passionate about helping other women become their most empowered selves in their lives and romantic relationships.

She describes some of the “color” of her life coming from her Cuban parents, who fled to America in the 50’s for a better life.

After divorcing when Charlene was four years old, she soon started kindergarten, speaking only Spanish. It was there that she first found her ability to be resourceful in challenging situations – something she has relied on her entire life. After experiencing things in her childhood that she describes as something out of Scarface, she faced one of her most life-defining moments when she discovered she was pregnant three months before graduating high school.

After delivering her son, she made the difficult decision to leave college so that she could support him. She remembers dropping two-year-old Josh off at a daycare center and crying every day for two weeks. Knowing there had to be a better way, she eventually opened her own certified daycare center, and soon built a place where she and Josh could thrive. She ran that daycare center for 12 years.

Fast forward three more children later (including a set of boy and girl twins), Charlene found herself drowning in a failing marriage. Having met her husband at 24 as a single mother with a four-year-old, she quickly fell head over heels in love. And although there was love, she soon learned that it came with such abuse. After exhausting every possible resource; books, counseling, church groups, weekend marriage retreats, not to mention the countless tears, time, and effort, she felt helpless.

A stay-at-home mother at the time, she came up with a 5-year plan to leave on her terms. Part of that plan included making as much money as her husband. With four kids at home, she soon became one of the top sales industry representatives and trainers in her city.

Six years later, Charlene left her 23-year marriage on her terms. It wasn’t until after her divorce that she truly realized how “loud” and turbulent her life had been since childhood.

Today Charlene’s life is full of peace and joy.

A Certified Empowerment Coach through The S.W.A.T. Institute, Charlene is in the midst of launching her first virtual course called “Let’s Talk Men” and is continuing to help women find true peace in their lives and relationships.

She is remarried to a wonderful man who she manifested into her life (and has a “bonus son” too!). Her home is calm and filled with love, and she wakes up every day with a spark in her eye, doing what she loves.

Be sure to join our fun conversation on October 8th at 4 pm ET/ 1 pm PT on Facebook Live, as we chat about empowerment, relationships, and much more. Click here!
