Use Oracle Cards to Empower Yourself

Let’s talk about how we co-create reality in partnership with the Universe and the most important step of manifestation- surrendering the results and the attachment to form.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about life (as I do in the early months of every year). I find winter a season of dreaming and taking inventory, sometimes going deep into the darker parts of my life, the womb, to see what I might birth consciously into the world. I wonder in awe some days about how I got here doing what I do and how different it was from what I was convinced I wanted. If you look at your life and see how far you’ve come, are you living the life you wanted on the outside, and/or are you loving life from the inside?

This week the goddess that stood out for me is the multi-cultural goddess of illusion- the goddess Maya. I think my favorite version of her, (and there are many-Hindu, Greco-Roman, Tibetan etc.) is the Scandinavian – where she represents the May maiden- the virgin goddess with the pregnant womb of chaos that preceded the making of the world, the beginning called Ginnungagap. She, like the Hindu Maya we might be more familiar with, is associated with the illusion of appearances. And so when we consider that we manifest from essence to form, often we get confused by this. We often want something because of what we think that the thing, experience, person will do for us, or how it will make us feel, or what we hope will happen when we arrive at the destination. For example, some think that once they fall for the One and then everything will be alright.

Have you ever wanted something that looked so good on the outside but when you got it, it was rotten on the inside, or at the very least wasn’t good for you? I believed I was going to spend my life as a successful singer-songwriter, and touring recording artist. I honestly had no other dream since I was a kid except for being a nun which my mom promptly put a stop to.

Doing intuitive work was my day job and too easy to do and never something I had any ambition for. Granted I loved Oracles and spent copious amounts of time studying and researching them, but singing, now THAT was a special goal.
Looking back I see so clearly what I wanted from that path. I wanted to feel like I could touch people’s hearts, make a difference by sharing my life experience in my songs and the way music had healed me. I wanted to feel good about myself, be successful and self-sufficient. I wanted the music career to make me whole, to make up for the deep sense of low self-worth that plagued me for so much of my early life. Maybe if that career happened then the accumulated shame would leave me. That was, of course, not possible.

All the healing that I needed and wanted came about because I failed at the music business not because I succeeded. The failures forced me to do my inner work, the lack of success pushed me to shift my vision of worth and recognize the illusions I had been chasing. By the time I got to a place where I knew who I was and been really enjoying what was in front of me I got that ever elusive record deal and invited to return to that desirous destination. For so many reasons I was able to recognize that nothing that I truly wanted came in that package.

I had found it all by accepting my vocation in the intuitive arts.

Everything I wanted and I hoped would come from the music career came in another package all together!

Has that happened to you?

This happened with my husband and I both. We each had our “types”- he dating only skinny tall blonde models, and me looking for a hot Italian. We laugh at how wrong we were about what we thought was right for us. I look at him with his Dutch fair features and striking blue eyes and thank the Universe that I didn’t get what I thought I wanted. I have everything I have ever wanted and more with him.

So you ask what does this mean?

It means the Universe listens to us and provides us with exactly what we need that matches our deepest truest honest desires. We need to release our attachments to what form we think it should come in.

This leads me to mention that after years of building a solid reputation for predictive accuracy in my readings I switched gears to a more perspective way of doing readings. I kept asking myself- what if this person could change this, or if there was something better waiting for them? What if by holding on to a prediction it would actually limit them?

So often we hold on to the certainty of a predicted outcome because it makes us feel secure but that security is a manufactured illusion.

What if there was another way, a more expansive way to be in our lives? Could we consciously create our world in a dynamic partnership?

I will admit I got a lot of readings from many known for their accuracy who told me I’d get what I want but not that I wouldn’t be cut out for it, or that it would be dangerous for my sobriety, for example. (Which it was although I’ve been clean and sober 33 years now) or that I’d find everything I was looking for in what I was already doing!

So the question I’m asking you is this. Do you know what it is you hope to experience from your dreams? Focus on that. And if you want a tool to keep you on track, Oracle Cards can really be amazingly helpful along the way.

When using the cards it’s important to get in the right mindset.

If you are using them to try and predict the future that can actually hold you back from manifesting your very best life.

It’s human nature to want certainty.  But it’s a BIG mistake to give your power away to a reading.

Instead, you can use an Oracle Card reading to empower you.

I believe we all have a blueprint that draws out the potential story of our fate and destiny, and that certain events and life experiences are preordained, but you still have the pen in your hands. We are always evolving, stories in motion, shifting as we learn, or repeating until we do like a spiral pattern. Although we’re all faithful pattern makers, there are always opportunities to change.

Just remember you are a co-creator of your reality. You are not subject to the whims of fate unless you abdicate your responsibility and accountability for where you are in your life. You have a choice. Never take a prediction as an absolute. Anything can change.

Today when I work with Oracles and teach about them, my focus is on empowerment and that means prescription, and not an absolute prediction.

And my wish for you is that you manifest your very best experiences and leave the form up to your manifesting partner…the Universe!

With Love,
