Your Weekly Overview June 13th – June 19th:

Dream a little dream? Soothsayer Neptune makes its annual U-turn this Monday, June 13 retrograding through its ruling sign of Pisces until November 19. This annual backspin can actually be a blessing as its meditative groove can bring profound internal reflection. Neptune governs our psyches, our boundaries and the illusions that trap us. Over the coming five months, we have an opportunity to heal some core wounds, deal with our addictions (from liquor to love to limiting beliefs). Awareness is the key to evolution—and with fog-machine Neptune in snooze mode we can actually see better, glimpsing our own unhealthy patterns and learning how to break them. Since 2012, Neptune’s had a homecoming, landing in its native sign of Pisces until 2025. Is it any wonder the world’s gotten a bit friendlier towards the woo ever since?

Creativity is cathartic now—and some of our best ideas will come to us while we’re sleeping, meditating, or just staring at the clouds. We’ll have to keep our psychic shields up though. Neptune’s backspin through empathic Pisces can make us more sensitive. Like sponges, we can absorb the mood of a room and the people in it. If we find ourselves grouchy or spacey for no apparent reason, follow the signal and slip into an Epsom salt bath, wave the sage wand, hold on to a crystal. Neptune is the god of the seas, so flushing out our systems with pure H2O will do wonders as well. Examine personal boundaries—has generosity turned into sacrifice or are we being too rigid? Perhaps we need to be more firm…or to soften, so others can actually reach us.

On Friday, love planet Venus switches it up, transiting from flirty, changeable Gemini to sentimental, caretaking Cancer until July 12. After a month of Tinder swiping and mercurial affections (that ran from hot to cold to scorching on the hour), our traditional sides take the helm. With Venus in sentimental Cancer we’ll crave heart-centered connections that bring a sense of comfort and familiarity. Let your mom play matchmaker or find someone whose family values mesh with your own desires—whatever those may be. And who says nice guys have to finish last? The hottie-next-door types will inherit the Earth for the coming three weeks. Reconnect to a childhood sweetheart or seek someone who shares those heartwarming traits of your first true love. And, nesting overload! Cancer rules the domestic realm and Venus is the astro-aesthete. Whether single or spoken for, the interior bug will bite.

If you’re looking to attract love into your life, try a little Feng Shui. Locate your love corner with a bagua map and fill it with romantic symbols. Make sure your bed is accessible from both sides and place pairs of objects around your home as a symbol of partnership.  Even if you’re not looking for something serious, Netflix and chill season has arrived. Attached? Get the cohabitation station feathered to cuddle-worthy code. Spending time at home is sexy, whether lounging, gardening, slow-cooking gourmet meals, or getting creative on a shared reno project.

Also on Friday, structure-hound Saturn locks into a tense square (90-degree angle) with Neptune, the planet of surrender and release. This is the second in a trilogy of clashes—the first was on November 26 and the third will occur on September 10—a tangled angle that can drive up our inner control freaks AND our escapist tendencies.

Throughout this week, we’ll be barking commands and fussing to make sure everything is “just so.” The next minute, we’ll be kvetching to anyone within earshot about how overwhelmed we feel (perhaps to the ill-advised tune of, “I need a drink!”). How to balance these dueling needs for structure and flow? With Saturn in expansive Sagittarius and Neptune in boundary-blurring Pisces, setting healthy limits is the key to zapping stress. FOMO aside, scattering in too many directions can water down our efforts. Saturn demands mastery while Neptune brings divinely guided inspiration.

Focus on less and commit to doing an impeccable job with the tasks you take on. This transit reminds us of the importance of compassion…with borders. It’s great to empathize, but not if we are justifying other people’s dominating or inappropriate behavior. Straighten up that backbone and set limits with the bullies, the manipulators and guilt trippers. No need to explain your reason for taking a pass. “Thanks for thinking of me, but no, I won’t be able to do that,” will suffice.
